The legal regulation base of general average:

• York-Antwerp Rules on the condition that the corresponding clause is present in the Bill of Lading and/or Charter-party),
• UN Convention «On the carriage of cargoes by sea» 1978,
• Law of the state of the port the vessel's voyage eneded at after the accident leading to the declaration of general average,
• Merchant Marine Code of the Russian Federation or Ukraine (if all parties of marine endeavour reside in the Russian Federation or Ukraine)
